Yemeni Community in Türkiye
The Yemeni Community in Türkiye (Türkiye’deki Yemenliler Derneği) is a community-based civil society organization dedicated to serving Yemenis residing in the Republic of Türkiye, strengthening communication and solidarity among community members, and addressing their social, legal, educational, cultural, and humanitarian needs within the applicable legal and institutional frameworks.
The organization seeks to facilitate Yemenis’ integration into Turkish society, improve access to essential information and services, preserve Yemeni national and cultural identity, and promote awareness of Yemen’s history, culture, and humanitarian concerns.
Through partnerships with public authorities, official institutions, civil society organizations, universities, and the private sector, the Yemeni Community in Türkiye works to improve services for Yemenis, empower community members to participate positively in society, and strengthen the bonds of friendship, mutual understanding, and cooperation between the Yemeni and Turkish peoples.
Organised work began in 2015 with the association's official registration and its first committees, then grew to offices in several cities. An elected board, an executive management and seven specialised committees now run the community, which is moving all its services to one platform.
To be a leading and trusted community organization that serves as a home for Yemenis in Türkiye, empowers community members, advances their legitimate interests, promotes their positive participation in Turkish society, and builds lasting bridges of cooperation and mutual understanding between the Yemeni and Turkish peoples.
To provide effective community and humanitarian services to Yemenis in Türkiye, support their legitimate interests within the law, strengthen solidarity and communication among community members, promote education and empowerment, and preserve and promote Yemeni culture through institutional action and meaningful partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
